We're glad you're interested in learning more about us.

The First Congregational Church of Chelsea was founded in 1849 and worships in a well maintained historic building in downtown Chelsea.   Our total membership is around 120 persons.  We share one traditional, liturgical weekly Sunday worship service at 10 a.m. We offer youth and adult Christian education programs at 9 a.m. We have a strong music ministry led by our music minister, choral leader and chancel choir; our instruments include a pipe organ, grand piano and chimes.

This is where we worship, but the life of our church is its people. Living our faith is important to us. Over the past several years, we have sent 30 to 40 participants to week-long mission trips in Neon, Kentucky and New Orleans. Our 2011 mission trip was to Nashville, Tennessee for flood relief work. Our local mission work includes serving meals at the Jackson Interfaith Shelter, monthly food contributions to Faith in Action, sponsoring a foster child in Guatemala, annual participation in CROP Walk and other UCC mission and outreach programs.
