Rev. Joe Jeffreys - Pastor
Pastor Joe has been with FCC since May of 2012. As "second calling clergy" Rev. Jeffreys previously spent 25+ in the commercial construction industry, typically serving as project manager. Stopping to check out FCC on one of his travels to the Lutheran School of Theology in Chicago ( where he was a student,) Pastor Joe had no idea that God would call him to the position of Pastor within 6 months. Rev. Jeffreys quickly transitioned to fulfill the requirements needed of a UCC minister. Rev. Joe Jeffreys was ordained at First Congregational in February 2015.
Pastor Joe has a passion for outreach and missions within the church. He hopes to inspire FCC and the community of Chelsea to, "Follow the Spirit." In his spare time Pastor Joe loves to spend time in the beautiful world that surrounds him, often camping with his beautiful wife Lisa, and his best buddy Cooper, his dog. He is also a proud father and grandfather!
Marsha Rinke - Minister of Music
Marsha Rinke has served First Congregational since January 2000. She directs the choir, plays the organ and piano and is responsible for all aspects of the music program. Marsha has a masters degree in piano pedagogy and is a former part-time Lecturer at Eastern Michigan University.
Marsha says, "music is my passion, especially as it helps people connect with the Divine. For me, music is a living art that exists in the moment and for the moment, while drawing on the legacies of inspiration from centuries of great musicians. My prayer each Sunday is that God may whisper to our souls through the music we offer."
Rev. LeAnn Seto - Minister of Inclusion
LeAnn Seto is a graduate of Methodist Theological School in Ohio with an Interreligious Contexts specialization within her 2015 M.Div degree. She was ordained and installed at FCC on February 18th, 2018. She has answered the call to create a multi-faceted ministry for families with special needs within the Chelsea community, and is the lead Pastor for our Parables Ministry.
LeAnn and her family have lived in Chelsea over 23 years, and she is also a volunteer for Ele's Place and Interfaith Council for Peace and Justice. She is passionate about liberation theology, learning a second language, visiting Spanish-speaking cultures, blogging, and learning how to knit socks. She also loves to just sit and listen.
Sarah Herwick - Administrator
Joining us in May of 2015 Sarah has provided extensive support to most of the missions at FCC. Sarah not only provides all administrative support, but also operates as our social media and marketing coordinator, graphic artist, web-master, editor of our videos and office comedienne. She contributes her skills to not being able to decide on a major in college, as she studied music, literature and paralegal, among other things. She also makes an incredible cup of coffee.
When not at work, Sarah volunteers with the music and youth programs at Bethlehem UCC in Ann Arbor, MI. She also enjoys spending time with her husband and their young son.
